The competency hearing for the father of a teen girl found extremely emaciated has been delayed.
48-year-old Walter Goodman was supposed to be back in court on October 30th, but during a status conference yesterday, that hearing was moved to November 3rd.
The reason for the move is that the psychiatric expert who was tasked with determining Goodman’s ability to understand the court proceedings was unavailable on October 30th.
Goodman was arrested after his 14-year-old daughter was discovered to weigh only 35 pounds and was extremely malnourished.
His wife, Melissa Goodman, her daughter Savannah LeFever, and LeFever’s partner Kayla Stemler have all been convicted, with LeFever the last one yet to be sentenced.
