A second suspect in an Outagamie County child neglect case has been sentenced.
28-year-old Kayla Stemler was convicted on charges of Child Neglect – Consequence is Great Bodily Harm, Child Neglect – Consequence is Emotional Damage, and False Imprisonment.
She was ordered to spend eight years in prison followed by three years on extended supervision and two years on probation.
She is the second person sentenced after a teenage girl was found to weigh only 35 pounds about one year ago.
Melissa Goodman was previously sentenced to 15 years in prison, while Stemler’s partner and Goodman’s daughter, Savanna LeFever, is set to enter her plea on Friday.
The fourth suspect, the victim’s father and Goodman’s husband, Walter Goodman, is set to return to court on October 30th for a competency hearing.
