Details surrounding the death of a teenager in Two Rivers have been released.
The criminal complaint has been released in the death of 16-year-old Payton Vertz, which shows that 15-year-old Nathan Reichard and 26-year-old Dominic Pilgreen planned the attack ahead of time.
The investigation began on October 16th after police found partially burnt clothing in a burn pit at Zander Park, and multiple students at Two Rivers High School claimed Reichard made concerning statements about killing someone.
Police interviewed Reichard that same day, where he admitted to being angry with Vertz and admitted that he and Pilgreen killed him.
The following details may be disturbing to some.
It was learned the duo lured Vertz down the Ice Age Trail at around midnight after getting him drunk, where they began to beat him.
They then tied him to multiple trees, but he kept fighting back and escaping.
However, Vertz’s attempts were not enough, and he eventually was killed and was placed in the water at Seagull Marina.
Reichard and Pilgreen are each facing five charges, including First Degree Intentional Homicide as Party to the Crime, with Reichard being held on a $500,000 cash bond and Pilgreen due for his initial appearance on November 2nd.
