An alleged child sexual abuser from Manitowoc is looking to get his bail lowered.
55-year-old Eric Lemberger is due in court for a bail hearing today (June 10th) at 11:30 a.m.
This comes as Lemberger was previously given a cash bail of $50,000 by Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch last month after being charged with First-Degree Child Sex Assault – Sexual Contact or Intercourse with a Person Under the Age of 13 and Repeated Sexual Assault of the Same Child.
The 55-year-old is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl over the span of approximately two years, beginning when the victim was just 7 years old in 2023.
During Lemberger’s original bail hearing, it was also revealed by Assistant District Attorney Angelina Scarpelli that he is the victim’s step-grandfather.
However, at this time, very few additional details about the case are available, as is often the case when dealing with charges related to the sexual or physical assault of children.
Lemberger’s alleged crimes were first brought to the attention of authorities when the victim told police that she was sexually abused on May 3rd of this year, telling officers it was just the latest occurrence of a lengthy pattern of abuse.
Lemberger has since pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been bound over for trial.
