A 58-year-old rural Kiel man sustains serious injuries as the result of a hit and run crash this afternoon in the town of Meeme. Manitowoc County Sheriff Deputy Inspector Jason Orth says deputies and EMS personnel were dispatched to the intersection of County Roads M and XX around 1:30 for reference to a hit and run crash involving a pick-up truck and motorcycle.

The collision resulted in the motorcycle operator sustaining serious injuries. The pick-up driver, who was not injured, fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later.
The motorcyclist was initially transported via ambulance to Valders where a landing zone was established for Theda Star who airlifted him to Theda Care in Neenah. The 30-year-old rural Kiel man faces charges of felony hit and run with injury and was cited for failure to yield right-of-way and failure to provide proof of insurance. Names of those involved in the crash are not being released at this time.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and the crash remains under investigation by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office.
