An explanation has been given for yesterday morning’s school bus issue in Manitowoc.
We were informed yesterday (October 29th) by a listener that “two school bus routes were canceled without notification to families.”
MPSD Superintendent Lee Thennes confirmed that there was “at least one bus that did not run.”
Student Transportation of America, which is the media coordination organization for Brandt Buses, tells SeehaferNews.com that one of the buses did run all of its stops, but was about 15 minutes behind schedule.
The second route, however, was “delayed due to a late driver callout.”
STA’s VP of Marketing and Communications, Mitun Seguin, also noted, “By the time we secured a secondary driver to run the route and notified the school district, it was just a few minutes before school was about to start. We apologize for any inconvenience experienced due to these delays.”
Seguin went on to say that, while they don’t have any critical operational shortages right now, they are always hiring.
