An individual representing Two Rivers City Manager Kyle Kordell has issued a heartfelt message to the family, friends, and loved ones of Payton Vertz.
The 16-year-old was found dead in the Seagull Marina on October 16th, and two men have been charged in his death.
Kordell’s representative said on behalf of the City Manager, “On behalf of Kyle Kordell, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Payton Vertz. The loss of a 16-year-old boy is heartbreaking, and no parent should ever have to experience that kind of pain. This shouldn’t happen in our communities.
As a father himself, Kyle knows how precious our children are and how important it is that we set good examples for them. Our kids are watching how we treat others, how we handle disagreements, and how we carry ourselves every day.
We need more kindness in this world. Bullying, cyberbullying, hatred, and cruelty have no place in our communities. We may not always agree with one another, but that should never stop us from treating each other with dignity and respect.
Life is short. Our time on this planet is limited, and none of us knows how much time we have left. Let’s make the most of that time by being good to one another, looking out for our neighbors, and showing our children what kindness and respect really look like.
Kyle also extends his appreciation to the law enforcement officers, paramedics, and everyone who has worked to bring answers to Payton’s family.
As Halloween approaches, Kyle wishes everyone a happy and safe Halloween. Please look out for one another, take care of our children, and enjoy the holiday safely.”
We asked if Kordell had any comment on the ongoing situation with the City of Two Rivers, to which he said Kordell is unable to comment at this time.
