The Kewaunee County Sheriff is apologizing for a mistake he made while updating the public on a two-vehicle accident.
Sheriff Matt Joski issued an update on the crash that occurred at the intersection of Highways C and K Tuesday afternoon, and he prematurely reported that an 80-year-old man from Suring had passed away.
The coroner had been called to the hospital, and Sheriff Joski says he spoke to the family to issue his sincere apologies.
The Suring man had been ejected from his truck after he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a semi.
Both men were taken to medical facilities in Green Bay with unknown injuries.
Their actual conditions are not known at this time.
