More details have been released regarding an incident that left four Green Bay police officers injured and caused one to discharge his weapon.
WBAY reports that 61-year-old Craig Buford of Green Bay has been arrested on charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, OWI – 2nd Offense, Operating While Revoked, and Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device.
Green Bay police were investigating a disturbance at a food truck in the area of Doty and Washington Streets just before 2:30 Saturday morning, when Buford reportedly blocked a vehicle from getting out of a nearby parking lot.
He then allegedly accelerated through the parking lot, hitting a woman in the knee and an officer’s hand.
While fleeing, Buford reportedly veered towards some people standing near a fire hydrant, which is when an unnamed officer ran toward him, nearly getting hit in the process.
The officer was able to avoid the vehicle and fired his weapon four times at the vehicle.
Buford was eventually caught and arrested, but not before injuring four officers and at least the one civilian.
