A Manitowoc County man who led authorities on a police chase and attempted to steal a squad car is due in court.
29-year-old Brennen J. Toltzmann is set to appear before Judge Anthony Lambrecht today (August 28th) for further proceedings.
Toltzmann has been charged with numerous offenses, including First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Attempting to Take and Drive a Vehicle without Consent, Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, and a third OWI.
On June 24th, the 29-year-old was pulled over by police in Two Rivers, and he showed heavy signs of impairment. When asked to exit the vehicle, Toltzmann sped off, initiating a pursuit.
During the chase, Toltzmann drove erratically and damaged three separate Two Rivers police cruisers.
Once his vehicle became disabled, he exited and attempted to steal a squad car before a taser was deployed to subdue him.
After his appearance today, Toltzmann will return to court on September 17th for a scheduling conference.
