There has been a little confusion surrounding what is going on with the Manitowoc County Veteran Service Office.
The Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors met last week, where they approved the creation of an “Equivalent Benefit Specialist Position while eliminating the Veteran Services Officer Position.”
To some, this sounded like the board was eliminating the County Veteran Service Officer position held by Todd Brehmer.
However, Todd confirmed with SeehaferNews.com that was not the case.
He explained that he had three service officers working under him, but one had recently departed.
This left him with two overworked employees with one paid position unfilled.
So, instead of filling that role as it was, they changed it to being a Benefit Specialist, which is structured to be essentially a front desk secretary who will set up meetings with the other vet service officers and take care of more common requests for service.
