A Sheboygan teen has officially been charged following a fatal rollover crash in Fond du Lac County.
16-year-old Madylin Blonigen was in court yesterday (June 17th), where she was given a $5,000 cash bail on three felony charges of Knowingly Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License Causing Death and Great Bodily Harm.
She was said to be behind the wheel of an SUV that was traveling west on Highway HH in the Town of Calumet at 7:15 Saturday evening, when she failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway.
The vehicle then struck a culvert, became airborne, and collided with a utility pole, causing it to roll over.
A 16-year-old girl was killed in the crash, and five other teens were injured, some severely.
Blonigen allegedly admitted to police that she had been smoking THC through a vape pen prior to the crash, and did not have a driver’s license.
As a part of her bond, Blonigen was ordered to not use or possess any CBD, hemp, or THC products or vaping products, and she was ordered to have no contact with any of the victims, including the funeral services for the deceased teen.
Blonigen is due back in court on July 20th for her preliminary hearing.
