Eastern Wisconsin gas prices are almost halfway back to the five-year lows in February.
Manitowoc County is reporting a $3.78 average per gallon of regular unleaded fuel on the AAA Gas Prices website, which is 31 cents less than two weeks ago, and 78 cents less expensive than the peak of $4.51 in the 3rd week of May.
However, that average is still $1.26 higher than the $2.52 local motorists were paying at the pump back at the end of February.
For comparison, Sheboygan County is right along those same tracks.
Their $3.73 average this morning is also down 78 cents from the peak of $4.51, but is still up $1.19 from the $2.54 they were paying in February.
Calumet County, meanwhile, is seeing a 22-cent drop from two weeks ago to an average of $3.86.
Outagamie County motorists are paying 24 cents less per gallon with an average of $3.84, while Brown County has the most expensive fuel at $3.88, which is 29 cents less expensive than two weeks ago.
Kewaunee County reported a 23-cent dip over that time frame, now averaging $3.87, while Door County’s 23-cent drop leaves its average at $3.85.
The state average is also on track with local trends, dipping a quarter to $3.82 over the past two weeks, while the national average is down 24 cents to $4.02.
