One day after Melissa Goodman was convicted in an Outagamie County child neglect case, a second suspect was also convicted.
28-year-old Kayla Stemler was found guilty due to no contest pleas on charges of Chronic Neglect of a Child Consequence is Great Bodily Harm, Chronic Neglect of a Child Consequence is Emotional Damage, and False Imprisonment.
She was slated to go on trial in August, but she came to an agreement with prosecutors yesterday (May 7th).
Stemler, along with Melissa Goodman, Melissa’s husband Walter, and Stemler’s partner Savana LeFever, were arrested after Walter’s 14-year-old daughter was found to weigh 35 pounds.
Stemler is set to be sentenced on August 24th.
Melissa was convicted on similar charges and is due for sentencing on July 1st.
Walter is due for a pretrial conference on May 28th, while LeFever has her pretrial conference scheduled on June 17th.
