Bail has been set for the man involved in a drunken hit-and-run in Manitowoc.
51-year-old Gregory J. Krcma appeared before Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch yesterday (May 4th), where he was given a $250 cash bail.
This comes as Krcma faces one count of Operating While Intoxicated, his fourth such offense.
The 51-year-old was arrested on Friday (May 1st) after Manitowoc Police received a call claiming that the driver of a black Camaro fled the scene of a crash.
Not long after, Krcma was located in his vehicle and pulled over near Magnolia Avenue and Johnston Drive.
During the stop, officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the suspect’s vehicle. For this reason, a field sobriety test was administered, where Krcma showed various signs of impairment, and he was placed under arrest.
Additional terms of his bail include maintaining absolute sobriety, and he is not allowed to operate a motor vehicle.
Krcma will now return to court for his initial appearance on May 11th at 9:30 a.m. in Branch 4.
