A hit-and-run crash in Manitowoc has resulted in an OWI arrest.
The Manitowoc Police Department was called to the area of North 8th Street and New York Avenue at 5:00 p.m. Friday after a caller reported a black Chevy Camaro had fled the scene of a crash.
The suspect vehicle was located a short time later, driving near Magnolia Avenue and Johnston Drive, where a traffic stop was conducted.
The officer noted a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the 51-year-old male driver, who claimed to be sober.
A field sobriety test was administered, in which the man displayed several signs of impairment.
The man was taken into custody on his 4th OWI after an evidentiary blood draw at a local hospital.
