A former teacher in the Fox Valley area is heading to prison.
64-year-old James R. Neujahr was inside an Outagamie County courtroom yesterday (November 3rd) for his sentencing hearing after he was found guilty on 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography in September.
At that hearing, Judge Yadira Rein ordered Neujahr to spend seven years in prison, followed by seven years of extended supervision, and he is required to register as a sex offender.
The investigation into Neujahr began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped off the Appleton Police Department about some explicit material containing children that had been sent from a computer in the city.
While executing a search warrant at Neujahr’s home, authorities discovered an estimated 2,000 images containing child sexual abuse material.
At the time of his arrest, Neujahr served as the band director at Fox Valley Lutheran High School, a role he was relieved of after the charges were filed.
