A Sheboygan murder suspect needs a new lawyer.
19-year-old Lawrence Buford was in front of Sheboygan County Judge Natasha Torry last week for a motion hearing as he faces charges of First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Armed Robbery with the Use of Force, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
At that hearing, a motion to withdraw was filed by Buford’s attorney, Stephanie Rock, upon request from her client.
Court records reveal that “the defendant does not think Attorney Stephanie M. Rock is acting in his best interests.”
Following more questioning on the matter, Judge Torry granted the motion for withdrawal, leaving the 19-year-old without legal counsel.
Buford has been accused of shooting and killing Joseph Torres and severely injuring an 18-year-old Sheboygan woman on January 17th.
As for Buford’s alleged coconspirator, 19-year-old Onterio Girley, he is scheduled to stand trial in December as he faces one count of Felony Murder.
However, Buford will not be back in court until December 7th for a status conference.
