One of the four Manitowoc residents accused of trafficking cocaine is set to return to court.
62-year-old Jorge Luis Plana-Cotto will be in front of Judge Anthony Lambrecht today (September 10th) for his preliminary hearing as he faces one felony count of Manufacturing or Delivering Cocaine Over 40 Grams.
At Plana-Cotto’s last court appearance, he was still without legal representation, and it is unclear if he has found a lawyer yet through the Public Defender’s program.
The 62-year-old has been charged in the case along with three fellow Manitowoc residents who have been accused of facilitating the transport of cocaine from South American countries into Puerto Rico before heading to the U.S. and the Lakeshore area.
Once the drugs made their way to Manitowoc, the four suspects would sell them to patrons at Vans Bar and other locations.
At this time, Plana-Cotto remains in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail on an unfurnished $100,000 cash bail.
