A Manitowoc man charged with threatening someone with a large machete will be pleading in his case next month.
During a status conference, the attorney for 31-year-old Dakota Hefty requested that the hearing be on July 7th in the afternoon.
Assistant District Attorney Jordan Feest agreed with the date before it was set by the court.
Hefty faces charges, including 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
A criminal complaint alleges that the 31-year-old became agitated with someone inside an apartment who was fixing an electrical outlet.
Hefty grabbed an airsoft gun and a large machete and waved the blade through the air, telling the victim he was going to kill them and cut their head off.
Hefty had a competency hearing in May. Judge Jerilyn Dietz reinstated the proceedings, believing Hefty understood what was going on and why he was charged.
He remains in the Manitowoc County Jail on a $2,500 cash bail.
