The New Holstein man charged after a bar fight in Kiel is due in court.
55-year-old Chad L. Suttner is set to appear in Manitowoc County court today (June 11th) for his preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m.
Suttner has been formally charged with Aggravated Battery – Intending Great Bodily Harm and Disorderly Conduct for his involvement in an altercation outside the Badger’s Den in Kiel, which has left Cody Rautmann in a medically induced coma.
As previously reported, Joshua Buchholz, a co-owner of the bar, stated that the 55-year-old was screaming at his girlfriend outside of the establishment at around 10:45 p.m. on May 22nd, and allegedly headbutted her.

Rautmann saw this and reportedly went out to defend the woman, which is when Buchholz said “he got assaulted” by Suttner.
When he received his $50,000 cash bail, Assistant District Attorney Angelina Scarpelli noted that if the victim were to pass away as a result of his injuries, allegedly sustained at the hands of Suttner, he would also be subject to homicide charges as well.
At last update, the court stated that Suttner qualified for representation through the Public Defender Program, however, a lawyer had yet to be assigned to him.
Ahead of the preliminary hearing, it is still unclear if he has received legal counsel.
