Another candidate has emerged to represent Eastern Wisconsin in Madison.
Nic Cravillion of New Franken is running as a Republican to take over for 1st District State Senator Andre Jacque, who announced last week that he will not be seeking another term.
Cravillion was born and raised on his family’s farm in New Franken, where he now calls home as the 7th generation owner.
He has also spent the past 15 years serving in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
As far as his political career is concerned, Cravillion has served for five years as District Director for Senator André Jacque.
Cravillion noted, “While I’m saddened that my friend and mentor, André Jacque, has decided not to seek reelection, I believe now is the time for me to step up, continue the work we’ve started, and fight for the values that define our communities.”
His campaign slogan is “Working for Wisconsin,” and he promises to fight to lower the tax burden, stand up for farmers, small businesses, and rural communities, expand the workforce and affordable housing opportunities, protect Wisconsin’s outdoor heritage, and hold government accountable.
Cravillion is the third person to announce their candidacy, as Kelly “Kell” Bales and Jacob VandenPlas have also thrown their hats into the ring.
