Sheboygan’s representative in Madison is seeking another term.
26th District Assemblyman Joe Sheehan has announced his bid for reelection as his first term is nearing its end.
Since being elected in November 2024, Rep. Sheehan has served on both the Committee on Education and the Committee on Labor, Workforce Development, and Integrated Employment.
Reflecting on that first term, Rep. Sheehan noted, “It is an honor to serve the Sheboygan area in the Assembly. This legislative session has been productive, passing bills that have been held up in the legislature for too…However, the job is not done. I am continuing to fight to fully fund public education, make meaningful efforts to lower costs for Wisconsinites, and protect our environment for generations to come.”
To become the 26th District representative in Madison, Rep. Sheehan defeated republican Amy Binsfeld by just over 800 votes.
However, this November, he will be running against Sheboygan Alder John Belanger, who has also announced his candidacy.
