An Alder in the City of Sheboygan will be looking to make his way to Madison in the fall.
District 2 Alder John Belanger has announced his candidacy for the 26th District in the State Assembly, currently held by Assemblyman Joe Sheehan, also of Sheboygan.
In his announcement, Alder Belanger says he will pledge to bring experienced, common-sense leadership to the State Capitol.
He also added, “I’m running for State Assembly because I believe our community deserves strong, hardworking representation that will fight for Sheboygan in Madison. My top priority is ensuring fiscally responsible government that addresses affordability issues for families, workers, and small businesses.”
Alder Belanger has been a resident of Sheboygan for over 30 years, raising three children in the community and remaining deeply rooted to the area for decades.
He believes in the need for “pragmatic leadership focused on real results,” and hopes to take his experience in life, work, and public service to make a real change for Sheboyganites and Wisconsinites alike.
While still serving as the District 2 Alder, Belanger was recently unseated by challenger Erin Bremser in the spring general election.
Alder Belanger tells SeehaferNews.com that he is currently setting up an official campaign website and Facebook page, which will be announced in the near future.
