MONDAY
– The first week of June is officially in the books, and in the first four days of the month, there were fewer new cases of COVID-19 in Manitowoc County than there were on the first day of May. With the two new cases reported last Friday (June 4th) by the Health Department, there were 10 total cases from the 1st through the 4th, compared to 12 on each of the first two days of May.

– The CEO of Festival Foods has been announced to be one of four people who will be inducted into the Junior Achievement Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame this year. Dave Skogan will be joined by Jack Link of Jack Link’s Protein Snacks, Timothy W. Sullivan in recognition of his contributions to Bucyrus, and Daniel F. “Jack” McKeithan, Jr. of the Tamarack Petroleum Company, Inc, who will be inducted posthumously.

– If you have not visited the Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc recently to view the Portrait of Manitowoc Community Art exhibit, you only have a few weeks left to do so. The exhibit, which was put on in collaboration with local portrait artist Sonia Vasquez, will be taken down at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 27th. WEDNESDAY

– Country music legend Phil Vassar has announced the rescheduled dates for his HITS-teria Tour, and the Capitol Civic Center is on the list. Vassar will grace the Capitol stage with hits like “Just Another Day in Paradise”, “This is God”, and the summer chill-out song, “Six Pack Summer” on August 22nd at 7:30 PM. THURSDAY

– Manitowoc Lincoln High School grad Eric Fogltanz wrapped up his collegiate running career at the NCAA Track and Field Championship. Fogltanz competing for the Cyclones of Iowa State University finished 12th in the semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.48 seconds. It was Eric’s best time and the best finish he’s had at the NCAA championships.
