60-year-old Gary Geiger was given a $500 cash bail by Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch yesterday (October 5^th).

Geiger has been charged with Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of THC, and Felony Bail Jumping.

On October 2^nd, local authorities executed a search warrant of the 60-year-old’s home, where they located numerous individuals using drugs, as well as an undisclosed amount of THC and meth.

During their execution of the warrant, Geiger also admitted to using the drugs found in the home, a clear violation of the terms of his bail in a previous case where he is also charged with Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place and Possession of Meth and THC.

Additional terms of his bail include a strict no-contact order with the individuals named in the probable cause statement and maintaining absolute sobriety.

Geiger will return to court on Monday (October 12^th) to make his initial appearance in Branch 3.

The City’s Department of Public Works has shared that Sheboygan Water Utility crews will be conducting work on Indiana Avenue, east of South Taylor Drive, between Wednesday (October 7^th) and Friday (October 9^th).

Work will begin at &:00 a.m. on Wednesday and is expected to be completed by noon on Friday.

While work is being done, westbound traffic on Indiana will be closed at South 17^th Street, while eastbound traffic will remain open but be reduced to a single lane.

A detour will be in place, taking westbound traffic south on 17^th Street, west on Georgia Avenue, west on Union Avenue, and north on South Taylor Drive back to Indiana Avenue.

On the project, the DPW explains, “This work is necessary to maintain the reliability of the City’s water distribution system…Please use caution and slow down in construction zones.”

All work and related traffic impacts are weather-dependent and may be subject to change.

The 38,000 square-foot R&D facility is part of a multi-year $200 million investment in Wisconsin by EMD Electronics, the North American electronics business of Merck KGaA.

The plan is to see investments in critical manufacturing sectors, such as the semiconductor industry.

The new Sheboygan Falls facility provides dedicated capabilities for synthesis, scale-up, and technology transfer, helping EMD Electronics work more closely with customers to accelerate new materials from early-stage development through final products.

WEDC CEO John Miller also added that by bringing research and development, scale-up, and technology transfer capabilities together at the Sheboygan Falls site, EMD Electronics can collaborate more closely with customers and respond more quickly to evolving technology roadmaps and local customer requirements.

The WEDC is supporting the expansion with up to $4.5 million in performance-based tax credits.

In an update from City Hall, a first layer of asphalt will be put on top of Emmet Street between 18^th and 19^th Streets following setbacks related to the road base.

Two Rivers officials call the asphalt paving an important step toward completing the improvements and getting the road back into service.

The construction company is expected to return early this week to finish the remaining work in the area.

Crews will also complete larger asphalt patches near McDonald’s and the south end of East Street near Harbor Street.

City staff says they appreciate residents’ patience while the work has progressed and that some construction projects can take longer than expected when issues arise.

Drivers in Two Rivers are asked to use caution around work zones and give crews plenty of room to complete the work safely.

Republican Amy Binsfeld and Independent Christian Ellis will be in the Seehafer Broadcasting Studios this Thursday for a debate, which will be aired on 98.9 FM WOMT 100 and 980 WCUB at 1:00 p.m.

Binsfeld began her political career four years ago as she won the 27^th Assembly District seat, defeating Chester Gerlach with 64% of the vote.

But only a year later, she was drawn out of the 27^th District, and if she were to run in the Assembly, she would have faced longtime representative Paul Tittl for the 25^th District seat.

Ellis, meanwhile, served his country in the Marine Corps, and spent 2004 in Iraq.

He decided to throw his hat into the ring because, as he stated on his website, “our state needs practical leadership rooted in real communities; not driven by ideology, but by love for our community.”

In 2025, Congressman Glenn Grothman reintroduced the Cancer Drug Parity Act, which is supposed to lower costs for cancer patients prescribed oral medications.

The bill would require health insurers to cover oral cancer treatments on the same level as traditional intravenous (IV) therapies.

During a hearing of the Subcommittee on Healthcare and Financial Services, which Rep. Grothman chairs, the Glenbeulah Republican says it was laid out how drug companies and the pharmaceutical industry are benefiting more with the current system in place.

“I’m trying to say if your doctor wants you take oral chemo, you can take oral chemo right away,” he explained on the WCUB Breakfast Club. “It’s time we stood up one more time to the pharmaceutical industry and stand up to the insurance companies.”

Rep. Grothman also stated that the pill form of chemo was far superior and safer than getting it through an IV.

During the subcommittee hearing, Rep. Grothman asked three witnesses, including Cancer Oncology Alliance CEO Ted Okon, why the way oral chemo has not kept pace with changes in how it’s paid for.

Okon testified that three Pharmacy Benefit Managers, or PBMs, control 80% of the prescription drug market.

“You have to realize each one of those PBMs is owned by an insurance company,” he stated. “In fact, in some cases, the insurance company owns the physicians as well, with United Healthcare. So the problem is that as these companies have seen these oral cancer drugs, and upward of 30%, we’re going on 40% of cancers are treated with oral cancer drugs, you have to realize they are gold to these PBMs.”

Okon also claimed that the companies will push the most expensive drugs for patients as well.

Rep. Grothman hopes to pass the bill before the end of this year or early next year.

Up first is the Personnel Committee, which will gather in the Council Chambers at 5:00 p.m.

After hearing comments from the public, the group will review recommendations from McClone for the 2027 benefit plans before approving the pay rates for on-call parks employees and assist-to-transport.

They will also get an update on police contract bargaining in a closed session.

Then, at 5:30 p.m., the Finance Committee will take over the chambers where they will discuss a request from the Department of Tourism for a credit card with a limit of $2,000.

They will also review a resolution to increase the mobile home park license fee from $75 to $100 in 2027, and requests for unbudgeted storm sewer and concrete paving projects.

The Common Council will convene in the Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m., where they will give the public time to comment.

They will begin with a discussion regarding the loan balances for two properties as well as a civil lawsuit filed by the City.

They will then make a final decision on the liquor license for El Rancho Bar and Grill before voting whether or not the City will change the hours of operation for massage establishments.

The Council will also vote on changing the frequency of City Plan Commission meetings.

Then, to close out the day, the group will enter a closed session to discuss an individual’s taxicab driver’s license, who is said to have given false statements on his application regarding his status as a convicted felon.

The Wisconsin DOT reports that the work on the Highway PP overpass on I-43 should be completed today, and crews will continue with shouldering, guardrail, and pavement marking operations from Highway 28 to Highway 42.

Sign structure will also be placed along westbound Highway 23 from County Road Y to Taylor Drive, and fences will be installed from Highway 23 to Wilson Lima Road.

The I-43 southbound on-ramp and northbound off-ramp at Highway 42 will both be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. today (October 5^th) and tomorrow, with various nightly lane closures being implemented throughout the week.
