Following a very wet weekend throughout the area, fire officials in Brown County have lifted the fire ban that had been in place for about a week.
The ban officially ended this morning (April 12th) after being in place since April 4th.
The weekend rain showers helped the entire state fall down to being in the “low” fire danger. That being said, residents are still encouraged to contact their local fire department before burning anything, just to make sure they are aware of the situation, and to ensure there are no burning bans in place.
Over the past week, a total of 43 wildfires have broken out through the state, burning a total of nearly 43 acres.
