The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports a wildfire southwest of Yellow Lake in Burnett County was brought under control, but not before it did some damage.
The fire burned 40 acres of land and destroyed three buildings. It was first reported Sunday. Local firefighters were joined by the Wisconsin and Minnesota DNR. State officials say fire crews were able to preserve at least 13 structures. Dry conditions and low humidities have put the entire state of Wisconsin under a very high fire danger.
It isn’t known how Sunday’s fire got started.
