
Manitowoc Lincoln swamped Oshkosh West 5-2 in girls’ tennis on Friday (April 2nd), winning all four singles matches and the number one doubles match as well.
Winning Singles players were Olivia Minkel, Caroline Ramminger, Delaney Brockman and Sophia Wergin. The winning number one doubles team was Kendra Peterson and Elsie Steimle.
Lincoln also suffered its’ 1st loss of the season over the weekend, but still went 2-1 at the very competitive Neenah Quad Tennis Meet, Saturday.
The Ships, now 9-1, defeated Sun Prairie 7-0, with #1 and 2 singles players Minikel and Ramminger not losing a game. Sophia Wergin pulled out a 3-set tiebreaker in her match.
Lincoln also blanked Stevens Point 7-oh with the lone 3-set match going the way of the Ships #2-doubles team of Hannah Dvorak and Mckenna Pleus.
The host Neenah Rockets ended Manitowoc’s unbeaten string with a 5-2 victory over the Ships. Brockman and Wergin won their matches at 3-and-4 singles, with Brockman needing a 3rd set tiebreaker.
Coach Stephanie Henschel’s team returns to action tomorrow afternoon at Ashwaubenon.
