Just because all the games have been played, it doesn’t mean the Marquette women’s basketball coaching staff gets to relax with a cup of coffee.
Coach Megan Duffy and her assistants secured a commitment from Appleton East High School standout Emily La Chapell last week.
Then, they held on to 6′ 2″ Lauren Van Kleunen who decided to take advantage of the N-C-A-A rule allowing an extra season of eligibility. Van Kleunen was named second-team All-Big East this season and she will return.
5′ 7″ guard Karissa McLaughlin is transferring from Purdue after setting the Boilermakers’ program record with 244 3-pointers.
And, finally 6′ 2″ sophomore guard Kennedi Myles is transferring from Illinois. She started all 23 games for the Illini last season and is expected to be immediately eligible to play for the Golden Eagles.
