The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association reports more than 100 schools are playing football this spring.
The seven-game alternative season started last Friday with about 50 games over the weekend.
There will be no post-season play and football will return quickly this fall.
Football isn’t the only Wisconsin sport with an alternative season as swimming and volleyball teams are active as well.
The teams playing now opted out last fall in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
