High-scoring Wisconsin Badgers forward Cole Caufield is moving on to the pros.
The sophomore who led college hockey in scoring this season has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens.
Caufield was taken 15th overall in the 2019 N-H-L Draft and was instrumental in Wisconsin reaching the N-C-A-A Tournament for the first time in seven years.
He led the nation with 30 goals and 52 points in 31 games – while winning the Big Ten Player of the Year honor and emerging as a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.
He’s expected to join the Laval Rockets in the A-H-L to begin his professional career.
