Packers President and C-E-O Mark Murphy is thinking we could learn whether Green Bay will host the 2024 N-F-L Draft as early as May.
Murphy says the decision could be made at the owners’ meeting.
Cleveland is hosting this year’s draft starting April 29th and Las Vegas, which was supposed to host last year’s draft before COVID-19 intervened, will now host the event in 2022. Kansas City has been guaranteed the 2023 N-F-L Draft and three cities are in the running for 2024 – Green Bay, Detroit and Washington, D-C.
Controversy around the Washington Football Team may hurt that city as a candidate to host the event.
Green Bay’s biggest problem is the size of its market – about one-20th the size of the Washington metro area.
Nashville organizers say 600,000 people attended the 2019 draft.
