The Milwaukee women’s basketball team trailed early and were unable to rally back in losing to St. Louis 61-44 Saturday in the second round of the postseason WNIT in Rockford, Illinois.
One night after their best three-point shooting performance of the season, the Panthers finished just 4-of-20 from long range against the Billikens.
Milwaukee was led by seniors Sydney Staver and McKaela Schmelzer with 9-points apiece in a losing effort.
The Panthers of Coach Kyle Rechlicz closed the season 20-and-8 overall and 15-5 in the Horizon League, capturing the 3rd championship in program history.
