The Wisconsin women’s hockey team never trailed while beating Ohio State Thursday 4-2.
Freshman Makenna Webster put the Badgers on the scoreboard first, about two minutes into the action, while Casey O’Brien and Caitlin Schneider made the lead three goals in the second period.
Ohio State scored twice to make it 3-2, but Daryl Watts clinched the semifinal win with an open net goal in the closing seconds.
Goaltender Kennedy Blair had 37 saves for Wisconsin (16-3-1) which beat the Buckeyes four times in six meetings this season.
The Badgers will go for their second straight national title in a Saturday game against Northeastern at 6:30 p-m. It will be Wisconsin’s ninth appearance in an N-C-A-A championship game.
