The newest addition to the Holy Family Memorial administrative team says he is excited to help the Manitowoc hospital continue to make the area a much healthier place.
Steve Little was named the new CEO and President of HFM after the merger between the local healthcare facility and Froedtert Health became official.
Little served as the CEO and President of Agnesian Healthcare in Fond du Lac prior to joining the Froedtert team.
“I was there for 17 years,” he told Seehafer News. “We were acquired by SSM Health, and I stuck with that for a while, but decided it didn’t really fit for me. I left there in 2019, did some consulting, and had a relationship with Froedtert Health for a long time.”
Once he had an opportunity to return to Wisconsin and join the Froedtert team, Little jumped on the chance. He was hired by the Milwaukee-based medical group specifically to do some things with HFM, whom he said have been very accepting of him in his first two weeks in Manitowoc.
“It has been an absolute blessing for me to have this opportunity to come in here and help…the citizens of Manitowoc have world-class healthcare,” he said. “The people here are fantastic. Some of them have been here for many years. Hard-working, experts in what they do, but have been challenged because of resource things both internally and externally.”
While Froedtert is contractually required to maintain the Cristian identity of the Hospital, Little said he wanted to keep that going anyway.
“Embedding Christian and faith-based values will remain at Holy Family,” Little stated bluntly. “It is key to who I am. It is the core of who I am. It will be upheld and expanded as we move forward.”
Little said Manitowoc “feels like home”, calling the citizens of the city “salt of the earth people…who have in their hearts and souls the wellbeing of their neighbors and all the citizens.”
