A heating contractor is hospitalized with burns following an explosion and fire at a house that was under construction near Lodi (low-die). Officials say two people were working on drywall when they smelled gas at the four-thousand square foot home about eight Tuesday morning — and a heating contractor from Sauk City was checking on the gas when the explosion occurred and portions of the debris started on fire. The contractor was taken to U-W Hospital in Madison with burns. The furnace was connected, and Lodi fire officials say there was probably some type of leak. The cause is still being investigated, and officials say it appears to be an accident.
