The owner of a pair of Brown County adult family homes is facing fraud and abuse charges.
36-year-old Lerenzo Head of De Pere is the owner of the Dauphin House in Allouez and the Danz House in Green Bay and is accused of overcrowding the homes and falsifying tax documents.
Brown County Adult Protective Services made an unannounced visit to the Dauphin Home and said the residents were living in “conditions of squalor”, and that the home was overcrowded. The basement reportedly reeked of marijuana, urine and feces, and bedding was found to have feces on them as well.
The residents also reportedly only had a bucket to use as a toilet. It was also discovered that Head had falsified reports to the Department of Health Services, to make it appear as though he was training employees to care for vulnerable adults, while also failing to report over $600,000 in income taxes.
Head has been charged with Fraud, Failure to File an Income Tax Return, Fraudulent Benefit Eligibility, Intentionally Abusing Patients Causing Bodily Harm, and Medical Assistance Fraud.
