
Wisconsin blanked Providence 3-0 Tuesday in the N-C-A-A quarterfinal women’s hockey game in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Sophie Shirley scored two goals and Wisconsin out-shot the Friars 44-12. Brette Pettet actually scored the game-winning goal in the first period.
Goaltender Kennedy Blair pitched her sixth shutout of the season and Wisconsin hasn’t allowed a goal in quarterfinal games dating back to 2015.
The Badgers have set a record by qualifying for the N-C-A-A Frozen Four for the seventh straight season.
Wisconsin takes on Ohio State Thursday at 6:00 p-m in semifinal action.
