The Green Bay Police Department has released more information regarding a stabbing incident that occurred over the weekend and called it “completely random”.
Police reports indicate that they were called to the 700 block of South Broadway at around 8:20 PM on Monday (March 15th) and found two victims.
One of the victims was a 70-year-old man, who was stabbed to death while waiting for a train to pass. The other was a local bartender at Rockabilly’s who suffered injuries to her neck and face before seeking shelter at Rum Runners.
The 22-year-old male suspect allegedly drove his car into the Rum Runners building and ran off. That is when he stabbed and killed the 70-year-old victim.
Some eyewitnesses to the second stabbing got out of their vehicles to help but fled to a local bar when they saw the suspect had a knife.
The suspect was later arrested, and will likely face charges of First-Degree Intentional Homicide, First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and First-Degree Reckless Injury.
