The Wisconsin women’s hockey team will meet Providence this (Tuesday) afternoon at 1:00 p-m in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The Badgers are going for their sixth national title.
Wisconsin qualified for the N-C-A-A Tournament by beating Ohio State 3-2 in overtime in the W-C-H-A title game. That was the Badgers’ ninth W-C-H-A tournament championship.
Providence is the opponent in an N-C-A-A Tournament game for the first time, although Wisconsin has lost only once in eight previous meetings with the Friars in regular-season contests.
The Badgers swept Providence to open the season five years ago.
Eight consecutive appearances in the N-C-A-A Tournament by Wisconsin is the nation’s longest active streak.
