The Port of Manitowoc has “quietly been flourishing” in recent years.
Alex Alli, a spokesperson for the Allie Family Companies, tells Seehafer News they’ve been part of revitalizing the local port over the last 5-to-10 years.
“Burger Boat is a big part of it, St. Mary’s Cement and Manitowoc Public Utilities have been a big part of it, and Troy Flentje from Translink has been a huge part of this. I think last year they shipped 200,000 to 300,000 tons of product out of the Port of Manitowoc, which equals something like 10,000 truckloads or some crazy number.”
“Allie explains that the city has been a great partner in these development efforts. The mayor has been excellent, the council and staff have been supportive and it’s great to see everyone rolling in the same direction to get things done.”
He added, “It’s great to see traffic on the river.” Allie made those comments during a recent appearance on WOMT’s After-Further-Review with Jason and Tina Prigge.
