The Green Bay Packers may be able to create more than 12-million dollars in cap space by extending the contract of edge rusher Za’Darius Smith.
Based on a Wednesday tweet by Smith, there’s reason to believe there is a deal to be made here. Unprompted, Smith tweeted, “I want to be a Packer for life!”
His current deal expires next year.
In two seasons with the Green-and-Gold Smith has 26 sacks, 60 quarterback hits, 29 tackles for losses, and five forced fumbles – and he’s only 28 years old.
