While spring flooding isn’t an unusual occurrence, it happened at an unexpectedly fast rate near the Sheboygan River earlier this week.
According to reports, the Sheboygan River elevated in level from “high” to “action” stage Tuesday morning (March 9th), causing minor flooding. The sudden and rapid rise in water level was not predicted by experts, but they say it could have been a result of an ice jam further down the river.
The flooding began at around 5:00 AM, and had subsided by 7:30 AM, with the water level in the river expected to continue to reside throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend.
Flooding could still occur in areas such as marina docks and piers.
