The Marquette Golden Eagles enter the one-loss-and-you’re-out portion of the postseason when they take on Georgetown this afternoon (March 10th) in Madison Square Garden.
Marquette has made it, at least, to the quarterfinal round of the tournament ever since joining the Big East Conference 15 years ago.
The Golden Eagles need to win the tournament to qualify for the N-C-A-A tournament.
Freshman Dawson Garcia leads the team in scoring with 15.4 points-a-game.
Unlike the last two seasons, Marquette wrapping things up on something of a hot streak, winning four of its last five games for a 13-and-13 record.
Opposing 3-point shooters have been held to just 25-percent by a strong defensive effort.
