A 29-year-old Manitowoc woman is free on $250 cash bail after allegedly striking another woman with a brick over the weekend. Melissa Groothoff is charged with Substantial Battery.
Manitowoc Police were called to Aurora Medical Center early Saturday morning to speak with the victim who told them she was meeting a friend at a home in the 500 block of North 10th Street when Groothoff entered the residence.
An altercation ensued ending when the two women went outside. That’s when Groothoff allegedly struck the victim in the head with a brick.
Conditions of bail are that Groothoff has “no contact” with the victim and report to MPD for photos and prints. Her initial appearance is scheduled for March 15th at 1:30 p.m.
