A group of faculty members, staff, and students picketed outside the Marquette University president’s office Wednesday during the noon hour.
They marched into the street to show their opposition to employee and program cuts at the university.
Just after almost 40 employees were fired last month, Marquette’s provost announced 240 fewer classes will be offered next fall.
That will result in fewer non-tenure-track faculty annual contracts being renewed.
A statement from the school pointed to a freshman class last fall that was 16 percent smaller than the previous year, saying that and the pandemic has forced some changes.
