Pairings have been determined for this weekend’s WIAA Boys State Basketball Tournament.
Like the Girls State tourney, games will be split between Oshkosh and La Crosse.
Thursday (March 4th) at La Crosse Center, the Division-5 semifinals will be played including #1 seeded Hustisford against Wauzeka-Steuben at 9:05 to be followed by McDonell Central Catholic vs. Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran at 12:35 PM. The two winners meet for the Gold Ball that night at 7:05 PM.
Friday morning at Menominee Nation Arena, the Division-3 state semifinals take place with top-seed Racine St. Catherine’s battling ‘4 seed Wrightstown at 10:45 AM and then Lake Country Lutheran faces Saint Croix Central. The winners play for the state title Friday at 8:15 PM.
Also Friday, at La Crosse Center, the Division-4 semifinals will be played beginning at 9:05 AM, pitting the Prairie School against Martin Luther, followed by Lourdes Academy vs. Edgar.
In Division-1 next Saturday at Menominee Nation Arena, Kimberly, the top-seed will battle DeForest at 10:45 AM, followed by Wauwautosa East and River Falls at 2:10 PM with the winners meeting Saturday night for the state championship.
And, in Division-2 Saturday at La Crosse Center: Onalaska meets Xavier in the first game at 9:05 AM, followed by Pewaukee vs. Lake Mills. That state title game will be played Saturday evening at 6:35 PM.
