Manitowoc Lutheran topped Roncalli 56-54 at the Jets Hangar last night in a WIAA Division 4 Regional title game.
The game was tight throughout with the largest lead being 6 for the Lancers down the stretch, but the Jets narrowed the advantage down to 2 in the waning moments before a potential game-winner by Tyler Bonin came a split second after time expired.
Lutheran, now 16-&-10 advances to the Sectional semi-finals on Thursday against a yet to be determined opponent. Roncalli ends its’ great season at 17 and 6 after capturing the E-W-C regular season championship. Bryce Schaefer scored all 11 of his points in the 2nd half to pace the Lancers while August Hecker & Nathaniel Luebke each tallied 10. The Jets had 4 young men in double figures including Luke Pautz & Tyler Bonin with 15 points and 10 apiece for Trevor Fiecko & Hunter Chalupny.
