Everybody in the Marquette lineup made a contribution as the Golden Eagles dominated Butler in a must-win Big East game Wednesday 73-57.
Theo John and Greg Elliott scored 17 points each and Jamal Cain had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Elliott was a starter for the first time this season.
Marquette led at the half, 41-25, and went on to beat the Bulldogs (7-and-12, 6-and-10 Big East) for the second time this month.
Efficient shooting was the difference with the Golden Eagles (10-and-12, 6-and-10 Big East) hitting half of their shots and Butler connecting on only 28-percent.
The Marquette men get a 10-day break in the schedule, then travel to U-Conn on February 27th.
